Do a proper research on keywords
Oh Please... Don’t start with this.. I know how to use them. But, most bloggers do wrong. Here's an example: you log in to Google AdWords and checks the keywords with a high number of searches . . But before choosing your keywords, you do not check their competition. You need to look at both the number of searches and competitors.
Pheww… This is the big deal?? I always check compettion while choosing keywors. Well, do you check who the competitors are? Even though the competition is low, if a site like Wikipedia is ranked on the first page, you can not beat it.
Solution: Think about the keyword, and then analyze the site that is on top of the search page. Check the Page rank, and authority of the main root domain, It the competitor is minor, then you can go on with that keyword
2)Do not ignore your old posts
Let's say your blog is old and contains a lot of posts. Are you sure that Google know about them? Even if Google knows, they may only appear on say, page 47 of the search results. Needless to say that these posts do not bring any traffic to your site. But the thing is, do not ignore old posts. They are a great opportunity to help you earn more money. They will also increase your site rank in Google's eyes, since you are proving that you have a lot of high quality content.
Solution: There are great ways to revive your old posts, you need to start linking to them in your new posts. This will make the Google robots re-index your previous post and can make the highest rating.
3) Optimze the layout of your blog for search enginesSay you have a striking layout that everybody loves. But what if Google can not understand anything on your blog because of your layout? A highly designed blog, ( I am not talking about fancy designs) simple and optimized for search engines can help you get a higher ranking in search engines.
